Our Team

Dr. Sang An PT, DPT, CFMT

Dr. Sanghyop An serves as the co-owner at Gradus Physiotherapy. He earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Long Island University in NYC. While he was living in Korea majoring in Marketing, he was very active in his spare time. While playing soccer with his peers in his early 20s, he sustained a traumatic low back injury that left him in pain for years to come. For over 10 months, walking upright wasn’t possible and standing in one position was extremely difficult due to the pain. All the doctors he met recommended a surgical procedure as the only way of treatment. At the time, he couldn’t find a right clinician who was able to address his pain and dysfunction in Korea. This is what challenged and prompted him to study Physical Therapy in the U.S., in order to understand and treat his own dysfunction. Through his studies, ongoing mentorship and experience in the Physical Therapy field, he has been able to successfully manage his once chronic low back condition conservatively. He shares his experience and expertise with other people who have struggled with chronic pain and movement-related dysfunction in order to restore hope and quality of life. He is a Certified Functional Manual Therapist through the Institute of Physical Art and continues to take courses through different paradigms. He enjoys traveling and photography in his spare time.
